Duchess Leo

We’re currently knee deep into recording our new record, and our focus will be there for the remainder of the year. Some small changes and additions will probably happen to the site. Perhaps a new song or two will creep out in anticipation of larger releases. The title we’re thinking of for the record is Dreem. On the best days we’re surprised by a sound or direction neither of us saw coming, but we both know is right. We’ve a lot of collaborations to look forward to. Grace Bellury, who was recently made an official Whale Heart artist, will be singing with Dan, as will the wonderful Alena Cason who worked with us on the first EP. Our friend Daniel Whitt of The Station Myth will play drums on a couple tracks and work with us in post-production. Old songs are changing constantly, becoming new, and new songs are developing out of nowhere. It’s a fascinating process.

Before we close the book on 2009 and go all Ahab on 2010, we want to thank you.  This year we released an EP, put together a show and performed all over the northeast. I can’t tell you how many weekday afternoons or hours of conversation spent, or the amount of money in gear - none of it wasted. We got this website too. A humble blog which we love so.

We turn forward and see the year ahead. We, as well as our Whale Heart brothers and sisters, have a lot to look forward to. Thanks for being with us so far.

There is an old proverb: If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

Here we go.
